The Performance Of Champions! Manchester United! The Comeback Kings!

The Performance Of Champions! Manchester United! The Comeback Kings! Yes I've repeated the title, my blog I can do what I like haha but to the point of this post its to discuss our season to date and because I haven't posted since 14th February.

As we all know Manchester United are the comeback kings, there have been so many performances of the comeback kind in the last 20 odd years that I can't even begin to list them... 1-0 down to Bayern Munich Champions League Final in Barcelona with Sheringham and Solskjaer to score two injury time goals and make us the only team in English football to achieve the unprecedented treble, yeah that's just one and obviously one of the main ones so had to mention it. A few more to mention there was the game down at White Heart Lane where we were 3-0 down at halftime to Tottenham and then ended up winning 5-3 thanks to goals from Cole, Blanc, Van Nistelrooy, Veron and Beckham... I'm hoping I'm right ok I probably am haha and then there's examples of the comeback determination this season like the game against Blackpool where we were 2-0 and turned the game on its head to win 3-2 which brings me to today....

Before this season I haven't seen United play much but thanks to student finance I've made sure I've gone. I'm no armchair supporter I mean having a Manchester United tattoo on my forearm should help to prove I'm a diehard supporter lol but yes today well yesterday looking at the time me and my dad went to the West Ham versus Manchester United game at Upton Park. I got tickets for us both because he is a Hammers fan and after driving me to Old Trafford to watch us stuff Arsenal with 7 defenders recently in the FA Cup Quarter Finals 2-0 I thought I'd buy us tickets but yes I had to sit with the West Ham fans. We went 2-0 down to two first half penalties, no complaints with them but really I'm not sure if 2-0 had justified the way we were playing, we'd created chances but lacked the cutting edge until the second half... at halftime I kissed my tattoo in the toilets as I was obviously not showing that I was a Man United fan whilst sitting with the home fans haha but yeah I said as I kissed the badge 'Come On United! We can do this!' well Hernandez came on, the Mexican superstar and thankfully he and the team delivered an inspiring second half comeback! Just to add Ryan Giggs had another class as always, one of the greatest players of all time... there is no doubt about it!

Rooney scored a quality curling free kick before finishing fantastically from a marvellous first touch for his second and then Wazza completed his hat-trick with a penalty! I was over the moon and twitching with joy and smiling. I went to the toilet after our first to smile to myself lmao but yes the comeback was completed, I got to see Wayne Rooney have the best game of his season and hopefully get back to his best form which he has slowly been getting to up until this great performance. Javier Hernandez got the 4th, I was so happy to get to see probably my favourite player for United score. A great day out but I did feel slightly sorry for my Dad but being honest I think West Ham will survive and I hope they do.

To finish this really was a Championship winning performance, I feel like we've got the title now but obviously we have to just focus to make sure we finish the job and hopefully with winning the Premier League so will Champions League and FA Cup triumphs. A second treble would be amazing! To every United fan out there have faith and believe in the team and we will achieve greatness! Glory Glory Man United! Thanks for reading.

The rebirth of Wayne Rooney

So the scene was set for something special and something special it was, Wayne Rooney's wonder strike won Manchester United the game 2-1.

In my opinion this is the rebirth of Wayne Rooney I mean if this doesn't spur him on to recapture the form that we all know he can produce then nothing will. A scissor/overhead kick in the Manchester derby is the stuff of what dreams are made of, Rooney's celebration summed it all up as he soaked in the electric atmosphere of Old Trafford after scoring one of the best goals the Theatre of Dreams has ever seen. He was a man relieved to finally score and for it to be a goal of such magnitude is so important for him and for Manchester United.

The importance of that goal can't be described following the defeat to Wolves last week Manchester United have once again shown their bounce back ability and the spirit that surely will see us become Champions come May. Its kept United above of the pack with Arsenal being the nearest who are 4 points behind and a gap needs to be maintained/improved as there are many key fixtures coming up over the next few months as we reach the business end of the season.

The result has kept City out of the title race and hopefully they'll fail to get Champions League football again, that would be priceless especially if United go on to win a record 19th League Title.... What a season that would be! Glory Glory Man United!!! "When I scored I could see the joy in the crowd, the players, the manager and the staff. It was a fantastic moment." Wayne Rooney.

Wayne Rooney's wonder goal, despite anything I've said about him over the past months after this all I shall do is applaud!

Wayne Rooney saga over already but is it really the end?

Last night I more or less slated Wayne Rooney in my post only to find out that he signed a new 5 year contract this morning, which was a huge shock to me and I'm sure it was to football fans across the globe. I am a huge Wayne Rooney fan when it comes to his ability as a footballer and I have always stuck by him when hes come under criticism, when he said he wanted to leave I felt betrayed as I am sure many Manchester United fans did but it seems that he has been swayed into seeing the light by now deciding to stay at Old Trafford.

His reasoning for signing a new deal was that he had been given the assurances he was seeking regarding the clubs ambition and was assured by Sir Alex Ferguson, David Gill and the Glazers that they would still be able compete for honours at the highest level. If this is his true reasoning behind signing the deal then fair play to Wayne but I still have my doubts, I am happy to hear that he is staying at Old Trafford because he is a key player but a part of me just thinks he is in it for the money and for all we know him signing this contract could be a way of selling him in the future so that Manchester United get the money they want and deserve if he is to be sold.

Whatever his reasoning is I will be honest and say I was more or less delighted when I heard the news, as long as he comes out and apologises to the fans like he has apparently done to Sir Alex Ferguson then we can put this saga behind us and move on to see Wayne Rooney get back to performing to the best of his ability in the colours of Manchester United and help bring success to the club I and many millions of fans around the world love.

well done Wayne, you have made the right decision

Manchester United: Life After Wayne Rooney....?

Here I am for my second post discussing something close to my heart, the club I love and adore Manchester United. Over the 19 years of my life iv seen many highs as a United fan but the other day the club hit a low that it hasn't often been subject to, a player wanting to leave one of the greatest clubs in the world as he wants to continue challenging for and winning trophies. This came as a shock to me seeing as Sir Alex Ferguson has won 35 trophies as Manchester United manager and is the most successful British football manager in history so why would the player want to leave for a reason that when you add it up doesn't really make any sense?

Well the player in question here is Wayne Rooney who up until last week was seen as a hero in the eyes of virtually all Manchester United fans including myself. It seems in my opinion hes leaving for money, reportedly he wants to earn £150,000 a week after tax, wow what a reason to leave Wayne I mean im sure £90,000 a week doesn't help you survive does it, oh wait sorry your earning more in year then most people will earn in their lives. This decision is purely out of greed and not out of ambition, I believe my claim will be proven right if he joins Manchester City and if he does I will lose all respect for the lad. Being honest I didn't think he would stay at the club for life anyway because of all the things going on in his personal life, I said to a few friends on mine since the story of his cheating coming out that if Coleen didn't take him back a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid wouldn't be far off but even when it was revealed that she did take him back, poor her, I was still thinking that eventually he would get fed up with the media in England and pack his bags for a new life with his family but this isn't the case and in my eyes what he;s done has been a huge disrespect to the club, the fans and Sir Alex. Everything about this situation is just a disgrace, the manner in which its all been conducted and broken promises from Wayne himself, Everton fans thought he would be wearing blue for the rest of his career but he broke their hearts and now he is breaking ours, now I won't be surprised by anything Rooney does and seeing as he said he wants to leave I hope I never see him in a Manchester United shirt again.

The lies he told Evertonians

Wayne has proved himself to become what he loves.... a whore! we will not forgive you

this is what awaits Rooney if he joins Manchester City, don't be anymore selfish than you have been Wayne

So now that everyone assumes Wayne Rooney will never put on a Manchester United shirt again many people wonder how Manchester United will cope following this saga and if there is life after Wayne Rooney, will they be able to move on? well I believe there is only one answer and that answer is YES! People who read this and know me may think I am being biased but I can justify by beliefs and I do try to weigh up everything before I say something and yes I honestly do feel that Manchester United can cope without Wayne Rooney, even with him our start to the season has been shakey but positives remain such as still being unbeaten in all competitions plus as everybody knows United always perform best in the second half of the season. In the past great players have left the club and have not gone on to achieve the heights they did at Old Trafford, in fact there is not one player who has achieved more success then they did whilst applying their trade at the Theatre of Dreams. An example of these players are the likes of Paul Ince, Jaap Stam, Dwight Yorke, David Beckham and more recently, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Gabriel Heinze, these players also have had conflict with Mr Ferguson and moved on but with the great man at the helm the success has still continued and will continue to do so, even after Cristiano Ronaldo moved last summer the team managed to cope last season and just missed out on the league by a point and some bad luck cost us in the Champions League. We have a good young squad with talented players such as Hernandez, Macheda, Nani, Rafael, Fabio, Welbeck, Cleverly, Evans, Smalling, Gibson etc and most of these players will turn into the next generation of success, we could use the odd addition such as Sergio Aguero who I am a huge fan of and I would love to see him strut his stuff at Old Trafford.

Overall Manchester United fans just remember that with Sir Alex Ferguson in charge we are more then ready for another challenge and we will continue to fight for honours and win them. No player is bigger than the club and we will cope with Rooney when hes gone, there is life after he leaves and there always will be because of the spirit of the club and its supporters.....
